McGraw is fascinated with how people learn, and we don’t believe the learning process should be taken for granted. We believe that learning is situated within a particular context and culture, and Princeton is, no doubt, a distinct and challenging academic culture; we study and consult with students the strategic methods they must employ to successfully navigate the demands and challenges of a world-class research university.
L@PP is a space of inquiry into the unique culture of learning here at Princeton and will encourage students to explore with us the ways in which they can best master the challenges and make the most of the opportunities of Princeton academics. It will also function to examine and understand the intersection of student learning and instruction at Princeton.
One mission of the Undergraduate Programming of the McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning is to elevate the discourse around learning, and this blog is one of a few platforms from which we are attempting to do exactly that. The Learning @Princeton Project will explore the hidden dimensions of learning at Princeton and seek to make them visible. This is not a space to find “quick tips”, rather a space for reflection on the specific ways Princeton students shape and are shaped by Princeton.
We encourage you, Princeton students and alumni, to join us in this inquiry process and engage in enriching conversation(s) that has direct impact on your learning and legacy here at Princeton, and beyond.
